Interview with Taylor of Ice Queen: Teenage Survivalist III
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF.
Hi, I'm Taylor, Irvine's little sister. I'm pretty quiet on the outside, which is why my dad always calls me "Ice Queen", but on the inside it's a three-ring-circus of thoughts and ideas.
WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR BEFORE PF DAY?
I was always worried that the police would come to arrest my parents or that Family Services would come to uproot us again.
WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR AFTER PF DAY?
What the voices would lead my dad to do, what the depression would drive my mom to, and what the anger and hurt would make my brother do.
WHAT DO YOU SEE AS YOUR GREATEST CHALLENGE IN LIFE NOW?
Dealing with my family's mental issues. And ghosts—too many ghosts. I don't like ghosts.
WHAT OR WHO MEANS THE MOST TO YOU IN YOUR LIFE? WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO KEEP HIM/HER/IT IN YOUR LIFE?
My Grammy and my brother. I would have done anything to keep them, but it would never be enough.
WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM PF DAY?
Life is capricious and transient like the spiders on your bedroom ceiling. But there can be surprises hidden in mundane things like a pair of old lady shoes. Always look for the treasures in life and release their inner rainbows.
